Adherence the Glue Beyond Measure a.k.a Heart Power

Why do you get up everyday to go to work?

Why do you eat the same food, have your favorite foods, why do like the music you like?

Simply put we are talking about adherence... One simple concept of showing complete devotion to what we are pursing that we all live by.

Adherence is like the secret sauce some people mention in certain situations, or the side effect mentioned every once in a while.

Adherence almost has become the redheaded step child that is forgotten, talked about in small circles, or completely neglected in other areas, but is really the glue that holds everything together.

Let me explain

I bring up adherence because for the longest time I had always wondered how I could go to the gym, play around with nutrition, try different/various workouts and still not get the body I wanted.

This got me thinking was I truly devoting myself to change or playing at change?

See change only happens when you devote everything to making it happen. Throughout my journey, time talking to people, and just mentioning bodybuilding, almost everyone says one of two things:

1.Wow this is inspiring and motivational- I need some of your motivation or can you teach me how to be motivated.

2. How can I lose weight fast and look like that guy/girl (as they point out a public figure)

Alright here comes the pain train!

In reality motivation can not be taught it has to come within for you to totally adhere to a plan, a purpose, a direction. There will be times when you lose your way, everything goes wrong, times when you doubt everything you have ever done and you will be the only one left standing.

Your motivation for starting, continuing , and even thinking of starting is what drives you to devote yourself to the greater purpose. This is the foundation or "heart power" of your motivation.

Look at it like this: In lifting for example I cant have the biggest guy go in the gym curl 70 lb dumbbells and expect to see the muscle on my arms. It doesn't work like that with anything in this world.

This bleeds into why you are not making progress and looking for the quick fix to weight loss.

First let me say there is no quick fix at all.

If you want weight loss that's going to be permanent, produce a better body image, or overall life. STOP making the excuses that undermine yourself.

This is a tough topic to talk about because I have heard it all from I dont have enough time, I have kids, I dont have the money, the list is endless. I could probably outline a hundred different items as to why people think they dont have the time. Plus, for years I used about 75% of them myself.

Then they wonder why they are stuck in the same rut year after year, begging for someones results, or just throw in the towel and quit all together.

I know I did, I personally almost quit time and time again!

Simply put, you love your complacency, your current situation, your life so much that you have devoted everything you have to keep it that way.

That is perfectly fine for some but for the ones that seek true freedom from:

a constant battle of weight loss

a never ending war of the yo-yo dieting

weight gain

losing weight

body image issues

money

enjoyment in life

worries about payments

hating your job

feeling left out

not making friends

wishing for a situation to change

etc

The only way to gain that freedom is by sticking to the change, motivation, fear, pleasure, goal, idea and adhere to the new life, way of thinking, new change you seek.

You got to find your glue, make your glue, or hold on to any type of glue you can to keep the changes happening until you reach a place you consider happy.

I can only talk about fitness though. I decided bodybuilding because I have always wanted a body I wanted to be comfortable in, be able to look good after a few weeks of just dieting, and hated the fact that I couldn't breathe.

It took me years to find a program I loved training wise (One of my free workout plans is linked), figuring out nutrition, other people that have the same goals to help me with adherence.

Heck Im still finding out more and more everyday.

The difference now is I love everything bodybuilding has taught me, continues to teach me, and every past, current, and future challenge it promises to bring to the table.

I have devoted myself to a lifestyle change and have started adhering more and more to what I believe is a path of life that I feel will make me a better person and also present the opportunity to inspire others to adhere to a larger purpose they deem worthy.

Whats your larger purpose? Are you ready to go all in? Are you ready to stop playing at the idea and smash your goals?

Whether you are looking at this in point of view as healthy lifestyle, promoting a business, making more money, supporting a family, following a passion, or something different you have to devote yourself to the process and adhere to changing everything around you.

This change will lead you to a forever that you love and forge something you can never look back and wonder what if about. Together we can adhere and forge something far greater than standing alone.
